Golden Silvers (track: My Love is a Seed That Doesn't Grow), and the Menace2Music OST grows!

I like, if possible, to keep up with reviewing albums and tracks that I own, rather than picking anything - spotify is all well-and-good, but I think this blog is also about giving people an idea about the varied taste I have (it's also a great way of tracking everything I'm buying and listening to regularly).

Today's track comes from Golden Silver's album, True Romance - the track is My Love is a Seed That Doesn't Grow:


This song swirls around, with echoing synths and a strong piano backbone. For me, it was one of the strongest on the album from the beginning. It sounds like an ode to a lost love. I got the album today, from an ebay purchase - straight on the iPod, and another to give a longer listen to at a later point!

Descent Into Mystery - Danny Elfman
Film: Batman

Recruiting Officer is one of those tracks that starts so slowly, with those chirps, and then builds up as the scene in the film progresses - the violins and brass sweep in, and you have a very moving, atmospheric piece of music.

The next two songs are pretty short, but still have a whole lot of umph - we start with Silk Spectre. One of those tracks you just know comes from a superhero movie - crescendos of drums and orchestration!

I shut my eyes, and I can see the batmobile (which you have only just seen for the first time) storming along through the night, leaves being blown in every which direction - Descent Into Mystery is a fab track, beautifully combining orchestration and choir. Naturally, a fantastic track to drive to!
